Who are we?
Welcome to the North Shore Filipino-Canadian Church (plant) in North Vancouver, BC. We are a Christian community and would love to have you join our family. We are growing and still affiliated to the mother church - Burnaby FilCan SDA Church. We the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a global movement of committed Christians following Jesus and eagerly awaiting His soon return.

Seventh-day Adventists have their faith centred in Jesus as revealed in the Bible, the ultimate source of truth. We believe God Loves, Creates, Redeems, Inhabits, Transforms and Triumphs in this life and beyond.

OUR VISION:
To envision our members as active spiritual agents bringing peace, health and hope to our community.
OUR MISSION:
To make disciples of Jesus Christ in North Shore, living as His witnesses and proclaiming the everlasting gospel of the Three Angels’ Messages in preparation for His return.
OUR VALUES: G. R. O. W. I. N. G.
This acronym reflects biblical principles and the Spirit of Prohecy that contribute to a healthy and growing church.
G – God-Centered: Keeping Christ at the center of all church activities, ensuring that worship, teaching, and mission align with God’s will.
Biblical Reference: Matthew 6:33 – “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Ellen G. White: “Christ should be uplifted as the foundation of the church. The more clearly Christ is preached, the stronger the church will be.” (The Desire of Ages, p. 826)

R – Reaching Out: Evangelism and community outreach, fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20)
Biblical Reference: Mark 16:15 – “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Ellen G. White: “We are to be laborers together with God; for He has given us a work to do in the salvation of our fellow men.” (Christian Service, p. 9)
O – Obedience to God’s Word: Following biblical teachings and fostering spiritual discipline.
Biblical Reference: John 14:15 – “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
Ellen G. White: “Obedience is the test of discipleship. It is the keeping of the commandments of God that proves the sincerity of our professions of love.” (Steps to Christ, p. 60)

W - Worship and Fellowship: Encouraging corporate and personal worship, as well as strong Christian relationships.
I – Involvement of Members: Engaging every believer in ministry, recognizing their spiritual gifts.
Biblical Reference: 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 – “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.”
Ellen G. White: “Every church member is to be involved in the work of God. The talents given by the Holy Spirit must not be buried, but used for the Master’s glory.” (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 326)
N – Nurturing Discipleship: Providing spiritual growth through Bible study, mentoring, and training.
Biblical Reference: 2 Timothy 2:2 – “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” Ellen G. White: “True discipleship means training others to labor for the salvation of souls.” (Education, p. 268)
G – Giving and Generosity: Practicing stewardship, supporting missions, and helping those in need.
Biblical Reference: 2 Corinthians 9:7 – “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
Ellen G. White: “God has made men His stewards. The property which He has placed in their hands is the means that He has provided for the spread of the gospel.” (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9, p. 245)
The G.R.O.W.I.N.G. acronym and the LEARN, LOVE, LIVE, LEAD principles from the British Columbia Conference Strategic Plans can be interconnected to create a holistic and balanced approach to church growth, ministry and discipleship.
1. LEARN (Discipleship & Knowledge of God)
GGod-Centered: Learning begins with a Christ-centered focus. (Matthew 6:33)
OObedience to God’s Word: True learning leads to obedience. (John 14:15)
NNurturing Discipleship: Teaching others is part of spiritual learning. (2 Timothy 2:2)
Ellen G. White’s Insight: “Higher than the highest human thought can reach is God’s ideal for His children. Godliness—godlikeness—is the goal to be reached.” (Education, p. 18)
2. LOVE (Developing Christlike Character & Fellowship)
RReaching Out: Love is demonstrated through outreach and evangelism. (Mark 16:15)
WWorship and Fellowship: Love for God and others is expressed in worship and Christian community. (Hebrews 10:25)
IInvolvement of Members: Every member should serve in love. (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
Ellen G. White’s Insight: “Love to man is the earthward manifestation of the love of God. It was to implant this love, to make us children of one family, that the King of glory became one with us.” (The Desire of Ages, p. 641)
3. LIVE (Practical Christian Living & Spiritual Growth)
O Obedience to God’s Word: Living out faith through daily obedience. (James 1:22)
NNurturing Discipleship: Growing spiritually and helping others grow. (Colossians 2:6-7)
G – Generous Giving: Living generously as stewards of God’s blessings. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Ellen G. White’s Insight: “A life in Christ is a life of restfulness. There should be an abiding, peaceful trust. Your hope is not in yourself; it is in Christ.” (Steps to Christ, p. 70)
4. LEAD (Spiritual Leadership & Influence for Christ)
RReaching Out: Leaders are called to make disciples and expand God’s kingdom. (Matthew 28:19-20)
IInvolvement of Members: Leadership involves equipping others to serve. (Ephesians 4:11-12)
N Nurturing Discipleship: Strong leaders mentor future leaders in the faith. (2 Timothy 2:2)
Ellen G. White’s Insight: “The greatest want of the world is the want of men—men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true and honest” (Education, p. 57)

"Jesus is the joy for living" is a powerful and life-changing statement that fills the brethren of North Vancouver Adventist Church, with excitement and gratitude. Knowing that Jesus is the source of all true joy gives us hope and purpose every day. His teachings, miracles, and sacrifice on the cross bring light and love into our life, filling us with an unshakeable sense of happiness. Just thinking about his boundless mercy, forgiveness, and unconditional love overwhelms everyone with excitement for the future and all the blessings he has in store for us. We are thrilled to have Jesus as our savior, guide, and friend because he brings so much joy into our existence. Our heart overflows with gladness knowing that we have Jesus by our side leading us through this journey of life.
